A kingfisher was sat just outside the reserve by the brook opposite the leisure centre. It was seen flying away in the direction of the reserve. Two grey herons were calling and swooping after each other round and round the reserve for several minutes. A large group of at least 50 chaffinch with bullfinch were mooching about in the brambles. Most of them headed into the feeding area when disturbed.
